Community Counselling

What is Community Counselling?

Community Counselling is a consortium of community development and regeneration professionals, formed to provide a consultancy service unique to third sector organisations, built around the training, organisational development, and resource needs of community and voluntary organisations.

The core members of Community Counselling are three north east based consultancies: MCSquared Consult Ltd, Ray Hopper Associates, and Kim Pearson Consultancy.

Consultants

Peter Monaghan is a former Development Manager for Aycliffe and Peterlee Development Corporation, Chief Executive for Business Link for Northumberland, and Director of the Amble Regeneration Partnership.

Clients include One NorthEast, Allerdale, Alnwick and Wear Valley District Councils, Sunderland City Council, the Northumberland Learning and Skills Council, and the Northumberland Strategic Partnership.

Ray Hopper heads up Ray Hopper Associates. Ray was previously Director of the Regional Tourist Board. Ray's community expertise lies in business planning, process management, project assessment, market research, consultation programmes and capacity building.

He has also been involved in a number of learner projects including 14-19 pathfinders, E2E, leisure related community projects such as at Rothbury and in Pickering, and evaluation projects as of the ALTTER Project.

Kim Pearson represents Kim Pearson Consultancy. Kim has been running her own consultancy business for three years following a career in the voluntary sector, which included a ten-year association with a regional childcare charity where Kim became Assistant Director.

Clients include Northumberland County Council Education Directorate, Tyneside Council, Northumberland Strategic Partnership, The Countryside Agency, Haltwhistle Partnership, Development Trusts Association, and Volunteering Tynedale.
